Some agents on Homegrity carry a badge. It is not a tier, it cannot be bought, and it changes almost nothing about where an agent appears. Here is exactly what it means and what it does not.
It is editorial, and it is not for sale
Start with the most important part: the badge can't be bought. It is an editorial mark, not an ad slot. No agent can pay to earn it, and no plan or subscription includes it. That is the entire point — because it cannot be purchased, it means something when you see it.
Contrast that with a pay-to-list directory, where the top slots go to whoever spends the most. Here, no payment changes what you see or who carries the badge.
What a badged agent commits to
- Honest lead handling — every matched client is treated as their own, not a number in a queue.
- Fast, real communication — they respond quickly and keep you informed through closing.
- Transparency on fees — commission is explained and negotiable, never buried.
- Client-first advice — they will tell you when not to buy or sell.
How it affects your matches
It is a small tiebreaker and nothing more. It never lets an agent pass someone with a stronger record, and it never lets anyone buy their way up your list. Order still rests on real results — local closings, client reviews, and response time — as set out on the methodology page.
In practice: between two agents with near-identical records, the badged one may edge ahead. A stronger agent without the badge still ranks first, every time.
How it sits with the license check
Two different things. The license check is the floor every agent clears to appear at all — what we check before an agent appears sets out the whole list. The badge sits on top, for agents who make a public commitment about how they will treat you.
One gets an agent in the door. The other is a promise about the experience once you are working together.
Browse license-verified agents or get matched — free, no obligation, and your details are never resold.
Frequently asked questions
Can an agent pay for the badge?
No. It is editorial and cannot be bought, and it is not attached to any paid plan.
Does every agent have it?
No. Every agent's license is verified against the state register; the badge is a further, optional commitment.
Does it push badged agents to the top of my matches?
Only as a small tiebreaker. Order rests on real results, and placement can't be bought.
